Heymann-Löwenstein 'Shieferterrassen' Riesling, Mosel GER

The Shieferterrassen translates as 'slate terraces', which are on some very steep slopes overlooking the Mosel river. The best expressions of Riesling comes from such sites, where the sun reflects off the river and bakes the hillside, and where the air moves constantly up and down the slopes. It's a beautiful and romantic place to make wine, and the results are simply astonishing.
